Asiago (VI) - Veneto

Located at 1000 m above sea level, Asiago is the liveliest city of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, thanks to the tourist offer, the points of historical and naturalistic interest, the events, the ski slopes, and the distribution throughout the territory.

Asiago was once the capital of the Regency of the Seven Municipalities, one of the first autonomous and democratic governments in history established in 1310 until 1807, when, with the victory of the French over Austria, Veneto became part of the Napoleonic Empire.

The city was completely razed to the ground during the First World War. Immediately after the end of hostilities, Asiago was rebuilt, respecting the original urban structure, and was awarded the title of "city" for war merits.

Asiago is a well-known location for winter tourism (Nordic skiing, snowboarding, sledding) and summer tourism (hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding).

In the two main squares and Corso IV Novembre, we find numerous shops, pizzerias, restaurants, hotels, and other activities of tourist interest.

Gastronomy

Asiago binds its name to dairy products known all over the world. In 1000, a tasty cheese was produced in the area,

for which sheep's milk was initially used. With the spread

of cattle breeding in the 1500s, cow's milk began to be used.
