The hills around Arzignano have brought back finds since the Neolithic, as proof of its ancient origin, near the "track of the Venetians," which goes from Verona to Friuli...#tuttitaly
Arzignano is an Italian town of 25 577 inhabitants. The city rises in the Chiampo Valley and is crossed by the stream with the same name as the valley. The latter is also surrounded by a crown of mountains belonging to the Lessinia Regional Natural Park.
It is assumed that the name of Arzignano derives from the Venetian "Arzere," "Arzene," "Arzegnon," or "great embankment," in consideration of the centuries-old
struggle of local farmers to defend the rich and fertile lands of the valley floor from the floods that periodically hit the area.
The hills around Arzignano have preserved artifacts since the Neolithic as proof of their ancient origin.
Today, in addition to the pretty historic center in Arzignano, we can admire the following:
- The ancient castle stands at over 650 m above sea level and retains much of the mighty walls.
- The town hall, built at the end of the 19th century, preserves the bronze coat of arms of the town.
- The church of Ognissanti, built at the beginning of the twentieth century, houses works of art from ancient religious buildings in Arzignano.
