Visiting the ruins of Pompeii is truly a unique experience. Walking around the ancient city is like being catapulted into Roman life 2000 years ago. You will feel like you are in the oldest place in the world, and you will be overwhelmed by a pleasant sensation of discovery.
Even today, some excavations are active. We continue to find objects and people buried under a blanket of ashes and lapilli during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, together with Herculaneum, Stabia, and Oplonti.
The Roman amphitheater of Pompei is a construction that dates back to 80 BC. It is the oldest arena today and the oldest stone building in history.
The site welcomes almost 3.5 million visitors every year.
