Arcevia (AN) - One of the most beautiful villages in Italy - Marche

Arcevia is a beautiful village between the hills and mountains, making it a splendid setting. In its ancient and vast territory, you can find nine castles. This place is rich in Paleolithic finds dating back to the Iron Age and the Bronze Age.

The municipality is located in the province of Ancona, towards the hinterland of the Marche hills, on the border with the Umbrian-Marchigiano Apennines.

Once in Arcevia, you will immediately notice part of the walls that protect the village, a symbol of a past rich in history. This village was awarded military value with the Bronze medal, rewarding the deserved sacrifices of citizens during the Second World War in the Partisan struggle.

Access doors still exist today to enter the village are four, and the main street splits the town in two. Walking through the city, you will feel a strong past. Certainly worth seeing are the various churches. The church of Sant'Agata with its an octagonal plan. Fascinating is the Archaeological Museum, where you will find many prehistoric finds dating back to the Roman age.

Also worth seeing is the Palazzo del Comune, considered among the oldest in the region. Absolute peace reigns in this village, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley below and taste local delicacies.

Among the typical dishes, you cannot miss some sweets. I remember tasting biscuits, damselfish, and donuts. A culinary dip into the past with authentic flavors that only villages like this can leave you.
