Alba rises in Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo, south of the Tanaro River, and is surrounded by the splendid hills of the Langhe and Roero.
Alba is known as the "city of 100 towers", as numerous defensive towers were built in the Middle Ages, which we can admire today: Torre Sineo, Torre Astesiano, and Torre Bonino.

The historical and social hub of the city is Piazza Risorgimento. The Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Palazzo Comunale overlook it.
The Cathedral of San Lorenzo is the prominent place of worship in Alba, built between 1486 and 1517. The interior consists of three naves with cross vaults painted with a starry sky.
Inside the Palazzo Comunale, there are beautiful frescoes of a religious nature.
Beppe Fenoglio
Alba was the birthplace of one of the most important Italian writers of the twentieth century: Beppe Fenoglio, born in 1922. By visiting the writer's house, you can retrace his life and the history of Alba and Langhe.
Manifestations
The most critical event in the city is the International Alba White Truffle Fair. Born in 1928, the event is held every year between October and November and attracts tourists worldwide.
For the occasion, the city is filled with the intense aroma of truffles but also with craft stalls, shows, and cultural events.
In 2017, UNESCO recognized Alba as a Creative City for Gastronomy.
Among the dishes of the culinary tradition, we can savor: Alba raw meat, Cherasco snails, Fassona tartare, peppers with bagna cauda, and green anchovies.
