Zocca is a small mountain village south of Modena, born in an ancient area full of hills and mountains on which several castles once stood.
The town was the birthplace of Vasco Rossi. The singer's house is recognizable because it is covered in writing: the low wall, the gate, and asphalt.
In 1975, Vasco Rossi founded, together with other young people, "Punto Radio," one of the first free Italian radio stations. The radio was later moved to the city of Bologna.

In autumn, Zocca becomes the "Queen of the Chestnut," thanks to the typical fruit of the area, the Marrone di Zocca, known nationwide for its quality. For a long time, this fruit was one of the staple foods of the mountain inhabitants of Modena.
Today it is possible to visit the Chestnut Museum to rediscover this tradition.
Opposite the Chestnut Museum, we find the Borlengo Museum, a typical culinary product of Zocca, traditionally cooked from Epiphany to Shrove Tuesday. Inside the Museum, one room is dedicated to the exhibition part, and the other serves as a laboratory to learn how to prepare this much-loved dish.
