The Devil's Tour is a 5 km hiking trail with an elevation gain of 200 meters. It is suitable for everyone, including children aged five and up. It starts in San Pellegrino in Alpe, near the local specialty shop. Follow the signs to the ridge, where you will find the mysterious "Devil's Stones." Here, tradition has it that you should walk around the pile of stones three times to atone for your sins.


The trail follows an ancient mule track, initially uphill and flat until reaching the ridge. From there, you can admire a spectacular panorama of the Apennines, the Po Valley, and the Alps. The return is easy, with a short, steep descent that brings you back to the main path.

You can also visit the Fountain of the Saint or return directly to San Pellegrino along the dirt road. This trail is rich in history and legends related to the hermit Pellegrino. It is a hike that allows you to immerse yourself in nature and discover the traditions of this enchanting place.


Passo delle Radici

Passo delle Radici is an inhabited mountain pass located at 1589 meters on the border between Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany.

It is easily accessible by car from Castelnuovo, along the S.P. 72. cross-country skiing enthusiasts can enjoy 8 km of trails winding through the woods.


There are also exciting itineraries for Nordic skiing, covering approximately 30 km and starting from Casone di Profecchia to Passo delle Radici and beyond into the Emilian territory. You can also go snowshoeing, and experts can practice ski mountaineering or off-piste skiing.

You can rent downhill and cross-country skiing equipment, including heated boots, at the Lunardi Hotel restaurant, which manages the station.
