The Gardens of Water and Trout Farming Alta Val Secchia - Collagna (RE) - Emilia Romagna

The Collagna Water Gardens, in the Upper Val Secchia, is a trout breeding center that collaborates with national and international bodies.

At the Water Gardens, rare specimens are bred and preserved, and it is possible to take a guided tour for a fee and take time on the nature trail.

You can learn a lot about trout and other fish from mountain streams during the visit. There are educational pools, aquariums, and a pond for fishing.

You can also enjoy the excellent cuisine based on freshly caught trout.

Also available is the comfortable Trout Lodge B&B, where I could stay for one night during one of my excursions in the area. In the morning after, I enjoyed the breakfast with homemade products: the cakes, a delight for the palate.
