Soffia waterfall - Mis (BL) - Belluno Dolomites National Park - Veneto

A continuous roar, which stuns, but which is intoxicating music ... Can you see the face carved in the rock?... #tuttitaly

Soffia waterfall - Mis (BL) - Belluno Dolomites National Park - Veneto

The Cascata della Soffia is located in the Belluno Dolomites National Park. We arrived here on a sunny spring day, and after a short walk in the park, we arrived in front of this wedged excavation with the charm of a cave. It took thousands of years to create, and the result remains in the hearts of those who visit it.

Outside the calm and silence, inside a frightening gut, and the water that creeps into it with irrepressible power. A constant roar that disorientates and attracts you at the same time. We can't take our eyes off the awe and wonder.

Finally, we see it mingle with the lake's calm waters, which look like an infinite spectacle: an immense underwater muffler between two rocky wings.

And the light illuminates the water that comes out of the dark sinkhole and gives an indescribable shade of very green colors.

The Cascata della Soffia is a spectacle of nature—a collector of the distilled sap between the valleys and the monstrous cracks of the Monti del Sole.

The only refreshment point and refuge in the entire Canale del Mis are the tavern Alla Soffia, Gena Bassa, near the bridge over the head of the artificial lake, near the waterfall of the same name, and the Cadini del Brenton.

We stopped for a cake and coffee after having our packed lunch sitting on one of the park benches. Moment of total meditation 😁

Next to the inn, there is a small modern church. This is the reconstruction of the oldest oratory of San Remedio, which was demolished because, located at the bottom of the valley, the lake's water submerged it after the dam's construction in the late 1950s.
