Sentino River and Frasassi Adventure - San Vittore Terme, hamlet of Genga (AN) - Marche

The Sentino River, located in the Marche region, is responsible for many natural wonders, thanks to its clear and calm waters that shape an extraordinary landscape. Along its banks is Frasassi Adventure, an adventure park immersed in a newly renovated and equipped green area.

Frasassi Adventure

Frasassi Adventure is located within the Regional Natural Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi. It is designed to offer a day outdoors, immersed in nature and having fun in total safety.

This park offers five adventure courses suitable for both adults and children. Visitors can enjoy activities such as tree climbing, suspension bridges, archery, etc.

Sentino River

The Sentino is a tributary of the Esino River and originates in the mountains of Gubbio, at 750 meters above sea level. Its source is located on the northeast slope of Madonna della Cima and flows through the hills of the Eugubian pre-Apennines, collecting the influx of numerous small streams. After reaching the town of Scheggia, the river crosses the Apennine chain, creating the Gola del Corno del Caria, located in the northern sector of the Monte Cucco Park.

Once past the Apennines, the Sentino enters the Marche region, crossing a valley dotted with hermitages and monasteries, including Sant'Emiliano in Congiuntoli, until it reaches the city of Sassoferrato, the ancient Roman town of Sentinum, from which it takes its name.

Continuing its course, the river encounters the Fabrianese pre-Apennines, generating the imposing Gola di Frasassi, famous for the homonymous caves, which the Sentino has contributed to forming over the centuries.

After passing through the Gola di Frasassi, the Sentino reaches the vicinity of San Vittore Terme, where it concludes its 42-kilometer journey, meeting the Esino River, which becomes the main tributary.
