Selva di Cadore (BL) - Val Fiorentina - Dolomites - UNESCO World Heritage - Veneto

In the heart of the Venetian Dolomites, in the Belluno province, is Selva di Cadore, a glorious summer and winter tourist resort.

Selva di Cadore is part of the Ski Civetta ski carousel, the largest in the Veneto region with 80 km of slopes.

In summer, you can go on excursions, mountain-bike routes, and via ferratas; you can also practice sport fishing or choose from the numerous sports at the Multipurpose Sports Center in the hamlet of S. Fosca, equipped with a five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis court.

Culture

At the Civic Museum of Val Fiorentina "V. Cazzetta," you can admire archaeological, geo-paleontological, and historical finds found in the valley, among which the burial with the "Skeleton of the Man of Mondeval" from the 6th millennium BC stands out, and the cast of the Monte Pelmetto boulder with the imprints of three different species of dinosaurs.

Gastronomy

In the valley, the various restaurants, refuges, and huts prepare typical local dishes of the Ladin tradition: recipes based on the speck, game, mushrooms, and dairy products from the alpine pastures.
