The Borgo dei Sassi, located at the foot of the Sasso della Croce, is embellished with buildings from the XIII-XIV century.
In ancient times it was part of the defensive system of the Malatigni family.
The Church of Santa Maria Assunta was built in the XIII century with a wall against the Sasso della Croce. When it declined, the Oratory of the Madonna dei Sassi was constructed in its place, decorated with 15th-century bas-reliefs.
The cult building is tiny. Inside, the single nave has a brightly colored altar. It is also worth stopping for a moment of reflection.
