San Giovanni Bianco (BG) - Parish of St. John the Apostle - Brembana Valley - Lombardy

San Giovanni Bianco is a charming village located strategically where the Brembo and Enna rivers meet.

To the northwest stands the majestic massif of Cancervo, reaching a height of 1,750 meters, while to the southwest are the mountains of Ronco (Molinasco 1,100 m) and Sornadello (1,550 m), which fascinate hikers with their beauty and variety of landscapes.

The surrounding environment is a true treasure, with vast forests and well-kept meadows.

Things to see

San Giovanni Bianco offers many attractions for visitors, starting with its charming historic center that preserves much of its original structure. Here, you can admire Romanesque bridges, follow the path of Strada Priula, immerse yourself in the suggestive atmosphere of Piazza Zignoni, and visit the elegant parish church.

With its neoclassical style, the majestic Parish Church dominates the village from above and was built in the 19th century on the foundations of a medieval building.

Noteworthy is the Boselli Palace, considered one of the architectural gems of the Brembana Valley, with its frescoed halls and magnificent collection of paintings. In recent years, the ground floor and basements of the palace have been transformed into exhibition spaces, where various types of exhibitions are organized, making the most of the beauty of the surroundings.

Finally, in the hamlet of Oneta, you can find the "Casa di Arlecchino," which was once inhabited by the famous actor of the commedia dell'arte, Ganassa, the one who gave life to the favorite Bergamo mask of Arlecchino.
