Built in 1888, it is one of the first alpine refuges in Val Gardena... Dolomites declared a #UNESCO Heritage Site for the uniqueness and beauty of their landscape... #tuttitaly
In 1888, at the foot of the Puez-Odle Natural Park, in the heart of the Dolomites, one of the first alpine refuges in Val Gardena rises, the Regensburgerhütte Refuge, later renamed the Firenze Refuge. It was built by the Alpine section Regensburg (DÖAV Regensburg), and after the
Second World War, as Italy conquered Alto Adige, it was entrusted to the CAI of Florence.
After 90 years, in 2010, the refuge was entrusted to the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Still, the management remains delegated to the Perathouer family, who have passionately dedicated themselves to it since 1940. Their commitment and love for the refuge have made it one of the most popular destinations in Val Gardena.
And the 70 years of their management are documented in the book "My Life at the Refuge" by Resi Perathoner.
The refuge can only be reached on foot, and I invite you to click on the link below to discover the Paradise in which it is immersed!
