One of the most beautiful villages in Italy and border bulwark between Emilia Romagna and Marche... #tuttitaly
We are also on the Romagna Apennines and, more precisely, on the border ridge between Emilia Romagna and Marche. Many families historically dispute it due to its strategic position. Today, therefore, Montegridolfo enjoys a very noble reputation and is included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
On this borderland, where many historical, cultural, and culinary traditions merge, Montegridolfo is instead part of the ancient “Little Rome,” or as it was defined in those times, "Romandìola," later characterized as "Romagna," in the current name, it retains today.
You can immediately discover the ancient identity of these lands in the typical dishes of the Romagna tradition:
tagliatelle with meat sauce and mushrooms, strozzapreti pasticciati and spice, polenta with sauce; then lamb, rabbit, chicken, and pigeon cooked in the oven, cold cuts, and cheeses. Without forgetting its inimitable wines: Trebbiano and Sangiovese di Romagna.
A small and welcoming village, but also authentic and nothing short of remarkable, which knows how to represent the maximum expression of Romagna cuisine.
