Dimaro Folgarida, Mezzana, Commezzadura (TN)- Dolomites - Unesco- Val di Sole- Trentino-Alto Adige

Dimaro Folgarida, Mezzana, and Commezzadura are three charming towns in the Val di Sole region of Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. These towns offer a unique blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and delicious cuisine, making them perfect travel destinations.

Dimaro

Dimaro, situated at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, is known for its picturesque location and rich history.

Artisanal and agricultural activities surround the town and hold historical importance, such as Casa del Dazio's location and a toll booth controlling the road to Campiglio. Dimaro is famous for its beautiful stone fountains and ancient churches, such as the 15th-century San Lorenzo, which houses frescoes by the Baschenis, and the 18th-century San Giovanni Battista in the Carciato district.

Mezzana

Mezzana, located in the heart of Val di Sole, is a gateway to the renowned ski area of Folgarida-Marilleva and Madonna di Campiglio. The old town of Mezzana features steep streets and a few noble buildings, including the 16th-century Casa Maturi, SS Pietro e Paolo parish church, and the Church of Madonna di Caravaggio. Mezzana also includes the picturesque alpine village of Roncio and the high mountain villages of Ortisè (1477 meters) and Menas (1517 meters).

Commezzadura

Commezzadura, although not a separate town, is composed of five distinct hamlets: Almazzago, Deggiano, Mastellina, Mestriago, and Piano. These hamlets have retained their identities and together have around 1,000 inhabitants. The area is rich in historical buildings, fountains, and churches of historical and artistic value, showcasing the region's long-standing artisanal tradition.

Among the main attractions in Commezzadura are the church of Sant'Agata and the small church of San Giuseppe in Piano di Commezzadura.

During winter, the area is near the Folgarida-Marilleva ski resorts, which can be accessed directly from the Daolasa hamlet via cable car. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can also enjoy the specially prepared trails extending 8 km.

Food and Wine

In addition to its historical and natural attractions, the Val di Sole region is renowned for its gastronomy. Visitors can indulge in traditional dishes such as canederli (bread dumplings), polenta, and local cheeses. The region is also famous for its excellent wines, including Trentino's renowned Teroldego and Müller-Thurgau varieties.

Conclusion

With its stunning landscapes, historical sites, and delicious cuisine, Dimaro Folgarida, Mezzana, and Commezzadura offer a truly unforgettable experience for travelers exploring the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy.
