I was standing on the imposing Devil's Bridge in Civita, Calabria, with my heart beating fast in front of the wonder of the unique humpbacked arch towering majestically 260 meters above the Raganello stream. The ancient structure, immersed in the spectacular gorges carved by the river in the Pollino National Park, emitted an aura of mystery and charm that completely captivated me.
As I marveled at the bridge's ancient stones steeped in history and legend, I was surprised by an encounter with a lady of great elegance. With grace and passion, she started talking to me about the exquisite Sicilian pastries, arousing a deep desire to taste those unique flavors only the Mediterranean island can offer.
