Corno alle Scale is a mountain in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere.
Corno alle Scale is home to a renowned ski resort in the northern Apennines, the only one in the province of Bologna.
Here the Bolognese alpine ski champion Alberto Tomba began his career in the 1970s; today, two slopes in the area are dedicated to him.
The ski resort extends into a natural amphitheater from
the top to Lake Scaffaiolo.
There are about 36 km of slopes for downhill skiing, served by five chair lifts, one ski lift, and one treadmill.
Artificial snow covers about 80% of the slopes, thus allowing skiing an average of 150 days a year.
An area equipped with spines, humps, rails, parabolic
curves, and jumps of different levels is available to snowboarders, while a baby park equipped with inflatable games is set up for children on weekends.
