It is here, between Cocciglia and Scesta, that the Canyon Park is born, the first adventure park in Italy that develops inside a Canyon... #tuttitaly
Cocciglia, Scesta and Fabbriche are three fractions of Bagni di Luca. Cocciglia is known for the so-called "strette di Cocciglia": limestone gorges dug into the rock and shaped, over the centuries, by the course of the Lima river, which here, flowing impetuously, formed a canyon with crystalline waters—a place of sport, entertainment, and relaxation.
The Canyon can be explored thanks to an Adventure Park in Scesta, along the SS 12, the Abetone, and Brennero provincial road.
Having parked the car in the Scesta sports field, a short path leads to the park, where you can choose between activities such as rafting, canyoning, and water trekking.
Those looking for a bit of relaxation surrounded by nature will also find a small pebble beach from which you can access the enchanting Blue Lagoon.
In the stretch that connects Bagni di Luca with San Marcello Pistoiese, the village of Fabbriche di Casabasciana was built in the 18th century. In the second half of the 19th century, a series of factories and workshops, a paper mill, an ironworks, and a spinning mill were built. After the Second World War, plaster manufacturing became the village's main activity.
