Immersed in the Dolomites, surrounded by pastures and woods scattered with small wooden huts. In summer, it is ideal for hikers, and the correct reference point for motorcyclists who travel the Dolomite passes ... #UNESCO #tuttitaly
The Cibiana Pass, known as the Cibiana Fork, is an alpine pass in the province of Belluno, which connects the Zoldo Valley and the Boite Valley. The Pass is crossed by the SP 347, which connects Fiera di Primiero with Venas di Cadore.
This pass is secluded and distant and can be particularly interesting for cyclists.
At the saddle, the provincial road is intersected by a 6.5 km long military road that allows access to Mount Rite, on which the Museum of Clouds by Reinhold Messner is located. We have traveled this road in the only way it could be: on foot. However, a paid shuttle service is provided during the summer.
From the top of Monte Rite, it took us a couple of hours to descend, and we stopped for dinner at the Remauro Refuge.
The Remauro Refuge, surrounded by pastures and woods scattered with small wooden huts, is ideal for hikers as it is the starting point for Monte Rite. In winter, an illuminated cross-country track is a few meters away.
Furthermore, a few kilometers from here, you can reach the Civetta area, the San Vito Ski Area, or the slopes of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
You can stay at the refuge in summer and winter, but you can also stop to taste its typical but very refined cuisine.
