Next to the refuge, the small artificial lake collects the waters of the Rio Piano, coming from the Cavone glacial cirque. At 1415 meters above sea level, it is the starting point for numerous itineraries... #tuttitaly
Laghetto Cavone is located in the heart of the Corno alle Scale Regional Park, an area rich in flora and fauna, where the purple gentian and the baccifera heath bear witness to the glacial period, and the wolf is the master.
The lake collects the waters of the Rio Piano, coming from the Cavone glacial cirque.
In spring, in its waters, it is possible to see the characteristic gelatinous wadding of the common frog, a reddish-colored amphibian that inhabits humid environments above 1000 m of altitude.
In winter, the lake's surface is often covered with a white blanket of ice and snow, creating a fairy-tale environment.
