The Cathedral of San Cerbone in Massa Marittima is a jewel of art and history. Built between the 11th and 14th centuries, it features an architectural style that blends Romanesque and Gothic elements.


The facade of the Cathedral is impressive, with a portal decorated with a bas-relief depicting the life of San Cerbone. Inside, one can admire frescoes, paintings, and sculptures by famous artists such as Giovanni Pisano and Duccio di Buoninsegna.


Among the most important works, the Ark of San Cerbone stands out, a masterpiece of Italian Gothic sculpture. There is also a travertine baptismal font and a Maestà from the Sienese school.


The Cathedral is located on Piazza Garibaldi and dominates the panorama with its imposing staircase. Over the centuries, it has undergone various restorations and modifications but has preserved its beauty and historical importance.
