A Slow City, which looks to improve quality of life, Castel San Pietro Terme is rich in history, art, hills, and thermal waters.

To be seen

The imposing Cassero, the city's symbol, was built in 1199 for defensive purposes. Today it houses the historic city theater.

The arcades via Matteotti lead us to Piazza XX Settembre, the city's beating heart.

Among the monuments, we can admire the eighteenth-century Sanctuary of the Crucifix and the bell tower built in the 20s of the last century, with the sophisticated mechanism capable of ringing 55 bells via a keyboard and carillon command.

Also worth visiting is the parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore, dating back to the 1700s.

To get to the thermal establishment from the historic center, take the tree-lined Viale delle Terme, enriched by parks, trees, playgrounds, and bars.

The first thermal establishment in Castel San Pietro was built in 1870. Using both sulfurous and salsobromojodic water, the spas treat respiratory, osteoarticular, and vascular diseases.

Near the establishment, there is Scardovi Lake, where you can take a walk in the wooded park, relax by the lake or dine at the restaurant immersed in this small oasis.

Autopodistic Carrera

Since 1954, on the second Sunday of September, you can see the Carrera race: a race in the city streets between human-powered vehicles, in which a driver and teammates take turns in pushing.

Typical meal

The typical dish par excellence of the Castellana tradition is the mutton chop, accompanied by side dishes of grilled vegetables and wines from the city's hills.

Around

14 km from Castel San Pietro, the enchanting Parco delle Acque Minerali is worth a visit, surrounded by the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack.

In summer, if you are looking for an ideal place for relaxation and fun for the whole family, you can reach the Water Park of the Villaggio della Salute Più, just 20 km away.
