Carpinone and Castle Caldora (IS) - Molise

In the 10th century, in the province of Isernia, a charming village was born to which the Carpino stream, a tributary of the Volturno, will give its name.


Going up the stairs that cross the town, we meet the castle. Located on the highest point, it dominates the city. Previously, the seat of Giacomo Caldora, a mercenary captain who sided with the Angevins against the Aragonese ned today.

the Sick," so-called for the lightness of the water and its diuretic properties.
