The exterior of the Cathedral, characterized by a façade and a side covered in red and white marble, hints at its grandeur and majesty. Works like the 16th-century wooden Crucifix and the statue of Pope Julius III further enrich the structure's architectural beauty.

This precious object, kept in a safe protected by seven locks, is displayed to the public only twice a year, on July 29 and 30 and on the penultimate Sunday of January, during the celebration of the Marriage Feast and the blessing of wedding rings.

In addition to the cathedral's magnificence, visitors can admire the Loggia of Braccio Fortebraccio, a medieval structure next to the left façade of the building. This structure represents another precious piece of Umbria's history.
