The Visconteo Castle of Pavia, an architectural gem from the 14th century, stands majestically in Lombardy. Built at the request of Galeazzo II Visconti, this castle houses treasures of immeasurable value.
During the visit, one can admire the enchantment of the frescoes dating back to the Visconti and Sforza era, which still adorn its interior halls. Despite the missing northern wing, which once overlooked the Park and connected to the Certosa, the Castle maintains its evocative harmony, representing one of the most important examples of late Gothic Lombard architecture.
To fully immerse oneself in this wonder, the Visconteo Castle welcomes visitors during the opening hours of the Civic Museums of Pavia. For only 1 euro (5 euros during unique installations), one can access the courtyard, the entrance, and the loggia. The Castle's halls host museum collections, requiring an entrance ticket to the Civic Museums.
