Piscinnì beach - Domus De Maria (SU) - Sardinia

Set between the two jewels of Teulada, such as Tuerredda and Capo Malfatano, in a stretch of coast defined as rias due to the rapid evolution from fine white sand to high clay and granite cliffs, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation: the Piscinnì beach.

The Piscinnì beach takes its name from the homonymous tower built between the 16th and 17th centuries by the Spaniards on a peninsula, from which it dominates the splendid beach and panorama.

The soft white sand slopes gently into the beautiful crystal

clear waters in shades between green and turquoise.

The sea, constantly whipped by the wind, is a popular destination for surfers and kitesurfers.

Behind the coast is the Piscinnì pond, rich in plant varieties. In the low season, you will meet grazing cows or goats.

The beach is easily reachable through the panoramic road

of the Costa del Sud, which the historic magazine 'Quattroruote ranks fourth among the most beautiful streets in Italy.

Punic-Roman quarry

In the first Punic and then Roman eras, the low cliff that borders Piscinnì beach to the east was the site of intense mining activity for producing sandstone blocks for construction.

The coast still shows evident traces of this activity,

recognizable in the square shapes and flat surfaces of the cliff, which respectively constituted the excavation fronts and the floor of a quarry over 2,000 years ago.
